  Both of our chihuahuas see the vets at Pickens Animal Hospital. Our younger chihuahua goes more because he had an allergy to his rabies/other required vaccines from the start. Usually we take our dogs to PetVac for their routine vaccines and to Pickens Animal Hospital for everything else. So they are accustomed to seeing both our chihuahuas. I felt I had to post my story because I am disappointed in what has happened over the last 2 days. I called yesterday with a lethargic 10 1/2 year old chihuahua for an appointment. They did not have an opening for Friday so I made an appointment for Monday morning and they did tell me if she worsened to take her to emergency at such in such place. Well, she did worsen and Friday, the day I was hoping to get an appointment , I took her to an Animal Hospital in Seneca since I was going to be in that area. While there, I got a call from Pickens Animal Hospital to push my appointment for Monday later in the day because of a surgery. I realize that can come up and I was at another animal hospital so all good. Seneca animal hospital ran many labs and aspirated a fatty tumor to make sure it was not cancer, the only thing we did not get was a urine test. I did not want my dogs bladder aspirated so chose to bring home the urine kit to get it at home and take it to our vet, Pickens Animal Hospital. I got the specimen finally at 4;45pm Friday, called my vet, Pickens Animal Hopital to see if I could bring it right in but it was too late to bring it in, they close at 5, so they suggested Saturday morning and I was like, Ok, was put on hold, she came back and said they could not accept specimen without a well check and they had no available time tomorrow and it would be later next week! So no one could look at my sick dogs urine specimen! What happened to caring about the animal! I would have paid for a well check just to get my dogs urine tested! A tech can run a test on urine. I do not understand how a vets office can do something like this. It has to be about paying for the well check. The lady, I believe her name was Terri, but I am not positive, apologized for dropping the ball for my Bonita, at least that was acknowleged, but it is about not really caring! I am more than disappointed! Why not check my dogs urine specimen and also charge me for the mandatory well check. But no! My dog is still sick by my side. What has happened to people? So sad.
